About the Artist

Our Philosophy

  • We want to share our creativity with as many people as possible.
  • We hope to create a very arty community where you feel happy to create and share.
  • We want to keep costs as low as possible so we do not have credit card facilities and we don't accept cheques. This way we don't have to pass on excessive bank fees to you.
  • We like to be as green as we can which is difficult when working with ceramics but we do try. We use lots of recycled materials and approach businesses to try to keep as many useful materials out of landfill as possible. We also use recycled packaging so you might get products in food jars or bags with other companies' logos. We also ask you to help us by bringing and sharing containers, paper etc.
  • We want to encourage children to use their imaginations and create with us.
  • Most of all we want to make friends and have fun.

Miriam is a Mosaic Artist and Teacher with over ten years experience in adult and children’s education.

Miriam ran “Mosaic Garden Art”, a business which specialised in Mosaic wall art and sculpture for the garden. She has completed many private commissions for clients in Sydney and has successfully sold her artwork through Garden Nurseries and Garden Galleries in NSW and Queensland.

Miriam attended the Gardening Australia Live Show 2001 and 2003 where she exhibited and sold her work.

Prior to this Miriam was a Papier Mache Sculptor. She completed private and business commissions and sold her work through several gift boutiques in Sydney. One of the highlights of this period was the “Fangartist” exhibition in Newtown. Miriam’s work appeared as feature articles in local newspapers and was featured on national TV.

Portfolios of all Miriam’s work are available on request.

Names of Nurseries and gift galleries that carried Miriam’s artwork are available on request as is the names of customers who have commissioned works in their homes.

Miriam previously taught at Fired Up Art Ceramics Studio in Telopea, Strathfield Community College, Eco Living in Randwick, SMOOSH (after school care) Rosebery and Waverly Woollahra art centre.

Miriam is currently teaching students at Gardeners Road Public School Rosebery to create mosaic murals. Students have completed one mural and are working on a second mural.

Miriam also works on a voluntary basis with the school running their garden art program. The 125 year mosaic mural and the yr 2 girls’ bathroom mural was installed last year. We are currently applying for a council grant for a two year art program.
